Biography
Dr Pukhraj Rishi has graduated from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, India with top honours in Ophthalmology. He underwent Vitreo-retinal fellowship training at Retina Foundation, Ahmedabad, India (2002) and another Vitreo-retinal fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India (2003). He trained in Ocular Oncology from Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA (2012). He has been on the faculty at Sankara Nethralya, Chennai, India since 2003. Currently, he is Senior Consultant in the Vitreo-Retinal department at the same institute. He has over 110 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is a contributing author for several text books. He has edited the second edition of ‘Sankara Nethralya fundus fluorescein angiography Atlas (2012). He is a reviewer for 20 Ophthalmology journals. He has won the ‘Late Nataraj Pillai Best Free Paper Award’ in 2004 and 2014. He has been awarded the prestigious 'Helmerich Retina Research Fellowship' by the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) in 2012 and 'Carl P Herbot travel fellowship award' in 2014 by Uveitis Society of India. His areas of interest include Macular diseases, Retinal vascular diseases, Keratoprosthesis, Ocular Oncology and Vitreoretinal surgery. He has been a co-Investigator in clinical trials. He is a member of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), International Society of Ocular Oncology (ISOO), Vitreo-Retina Society of India (VRSI) and founding member of Asia-Pacific Society of Ocular Oncology and Pathology (APSOOP).
