- Intraepithelial and invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the conjunctiva: analysis of 60 cases.
clinical features, treatment results, and recurrence rates in patients with either intraepithelial or invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the conjunctiva. - Laboratory evaluation of hypercoagulable states in patients with central retinal vein occlusion who are less than 56 years of age
To investigate whether hypercoagulability plays a role in thrombus formation in patients with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) who are less than 56 years of age. RESULTS: Hyperhomocysteinemia and circulating antiphospholipid antibodies were significantly more common in CRVO patients (P < 0.05) compared with age-matched controls. CONCLUSIONS:Hypercoagulability may play a role in the pathogenesis of CRVO in patients less than 56 years old. - Ocular findings in 55 patients with Down's syndrome
29 (52.7%) hypermetropes, 7 (12.7%) emmetropes, and 7 (12.7%) myopes; astigmatism of more than 3.00 diopters was present in 7 (12.7%) patients. Strabismus was observed in 12 patients. Congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction was present in 12 subjects (21.8%). Blepharitis was found in 19 (34.5%) cases. Nystagmus occurred in 7(12.7%) patients. Brushfield spots were in only 20(36.3%) of the patients and were more common in light-colored irides. Fukuyama-type congenital muscular dystrophy (FCMD), Walker–Warburg syndrome, and muscle-eye-brain disease are clinically similar autosomal recessive disorders characterized by congenital muscular dystrophy, cobblestone lissencephaly, and eye anomalies. FCMD is frequent in Japan, but no FCMD patient with confirmed fukutin gene mutations has been identified in a non-Japanese population. Here, we describe a Turkish CMD patient with severe brain and eye anomalies. - Orbital lymphangioma: an analysis of 26 patients
To evaluate retrospective data on the clinical findings, histological features, radiological diagnosis, and management outcomes in orbital lymphangioma. Bilateral loss of vision developed within two weeks in a young adult with positive Brucella antibodies. There was optic disc swelling with optic neuropathy and serous retinal detachment in both eyes. We report a histopathologically confirmed ossifying fibroma involving the lateral orbital wall in an adult.
