About This Course
The International Retinoblastoma Comprehensive Course (IRBCC) was designed to serve as a foundational element for eye cancer specialists. This is a free, open-access course meant for ophthalmologists interested in Retinoblastoma to get acquainted with the material. It was prepared by more than 50 internationally renowned experts to provide detailed practical guidance and advice on the diagnosis and management of retinoblastoma (RB). Course graduates will acquire state-of-the-art knowledge on the genetics, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of this life-threatening childhood cancer. This course was devised to reduce the world-wide mortality and vision loss associated with cancer in both developing and developed countries. IRBCC offers the latest knowledge in a format that allows for rapid retrieval of information in daily practice. Dr. Yacoub Yousef (IRBCC Director)
Dr. Yacoub A. Yousef has created the leading ocular oncology training service in the Middle East, supported in part by The Eye Cancer Foundation. Dr. yourself heads the Retinoblastoma Service and the Ocular Oncology Unit at the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. He completed his basic medical education at The University of Jordan and 'The Higher Specialization in Ophthalmology from The Jordan University Hospital. Then, her completed his fellowship in ocular tumor, orbital disease and ophthalmic radiation therapy at The New York Eye Cancer Center, followed by a fellowship in Retinoblastoma and Ocular Oncology ay the University of Toronto under supervision of the worlds leaders in the field Drs. Paul Finger and Brenda Gallie. |
Dr. Paul T. Finger, MD, FACS (Chairman of The Eye Cancer Foundation)
Dr. Finger is an ophthalmologist who specializes in ocular oncology (ocular tumor, orbital disease and ophthalmic radiation therapy). He is the Director of both The New York Eye Cancer Center and Ocular Tumor Services at The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary at Mount Sinai. He also consults for Northwell Health Complex of affiliated hospitals, including Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat hospital. By founding The Eye Cancer Foundation, Dr. Finger has directed the foundation's purpose to supporting international, multi-center cooperation and outreach top unserved and underserved countries. |
