- Helping Teenagers - The death of a parent only adds to the difficulty of teen years. It presents new challenges for both the teenager and his or her family.
- Coping With Loss - Grieving the loss of a spouse or partner is about cherishing your memories of your loved one while remaining open to new experiences that may enrich your life.
- Camp Kesem is a college student run summer camp for kids with a parent who has (or has had) cancer. Our one-week sleep away camps are a chance for kids 6-16 to have a fun-filled week and just be kids. Everything we do at Camp Kesem focuses on our goal of giving campers the most fun week possible, while providing the extra support and attention they need.
- Caring Connections is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. It is a national consumer engagement to improve care at the end of life, supported by a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Caring Connections provides a variety of free resources on end-of life issues.
- The Dougy Center was the first center in the United States to provide peer support groups for grieving children. The organization has served more than 14,000 children, teens and families since 1982. Through its National Center for Grieving Children and Families, the organization provides support and training locally, nationally and internationally to individuals and organizations seeking to assist children in grief. The Dougy Center is supported solely through private support from individuals, foundations and companies, and receives no state or federal funding. The Dougy Center does not charge a fee for its services.
- The Hospice Foundation of America exists to help those who cope personally or professionally with terminal illness, death, and the process of grief and bereavement.
- The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) is the largest nonprofit membership organization representing hospice and palliative care programs and professionals in the United States. The organization is committed to improving end of life care and expanding access to hospice care with the goal of profoundly enhancing quality of life for people dying in America and their loved ones.
- PBS Parents - Sesame Workshop presents personal stories about coping with the death of a parent. Katie Couric joins Elmo and his furry friends to model communication between adults and children. They’ll also offer thoughtful suggestions and strategies that help the whole family.
