Eye Plaque Radiation Therapy at The New York Eye Cancer Center: Staying at Home
Feb 12, 2022: Dr. Finger changed the rules at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai so that all his patients could go home during the 5-7 day plaque treatment. He says, “there is nothing like your own bed and your own refrigerator.” Patients are currently also allowed out of the house, for shopping and normal events; they must stay 3 feet away from others for radiation safety. This video shows one couples perspective on home care during ophthalmic plaque radiation therapy. This charming couple’s unique patient perspective is meant to help other patients go through the week with reassurance.
