B. Areas of Research Interest and Current Projects
My primary research focus is tumors of the posterior segment with an emphasis on posterior uveal melanoma and retinal vascular tumors (Von Hippel Lindau Disease). I am reviewing the clinical data for patients treated at UIHC for posterior uveal melanoma and am working on projects studying the clinical, molecular, and imaging features of radiation retinopathy. I am working on a project with Dr. Budd Tucker studying the mechanisms behind phenotypic variability in Von Hippel Lindau disease and potential molecular treatment approaches. I am collaborating with researchers at the Cleveland Clinic for a study of potential biomarkers of metastatic disease in uveal melanoma.
