About The 37th Singapore-Malaysia Joint Ophthalmology Meeting:
The theme of the meeting is Transforming Paradigms in Ophthalmology. It will be the first regional meeting after 2 years since the pandemic, and since then eye care has never seen more challenging times. The demands of ophthalmologists have grown rapidly, especially with the increasing burden of eye diseases from an aging population demographic and also the advent of new & emerging technologies, therapeutic options and major advances such as artificial intelligence.
This meeting will feature renown speakers from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. It is planned with ALL eye care professionals in mind: ophthalmologists, both the young and experienced, general and sub-specialised; nursing and allied health professionals.
It will feature updates on the newest trends and latest innovations that will transform the way we practice. Highlights include skills transfer courses, workshops and wet-labs. The popular Global Young Ophthalmologists Summit will feature YOs in scientific debates on the latest trends and innovations in eye care.

The 37th Singapore-Malaysia Joint Ophthalmology Meeting was held in Singapore on 19 – 21 January 2024. The theme of the meeting was “Transforming Paradigms in Ophthalmology”. It was the first regional meeting after 2 years since the Covid-19 pandemic. It featured renowned speakers from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
For example, Dr. Puneet Jain, who is a graduate of The Eye Cancer Fellowship program, presented research titled- “Metastatic Conjunctival Melanoma: A Multicenter International Study”. His presentation reviewed and highlighted findings from published and as yet unpublished results from the ‘American Joint Committee on Cancer – Ophthalmic Oncology Task Forces’ international data-sharing registry. Dr. Jain’s lecture was well received and led to meaningful dialogue amongst the attending ophthalmologists, encompassed by individuals of varying levels of experience, specialties, and allied health backgrounds.
