college scholarships for cancer survivors

college scholarships for cancer survivors
From bgrassgirl, September 3, 2004
My daughter is a 17-year survivor of retinoblastoma, after cryotherapy, phototherapy and radiation treatments (1-7 months of age). She is a senior in high school now and has near-normal vision in both eyes, although the radiation has caused cataracts to grow that will eventually have to be removed. We're researching grants and scholarships for college. Her father (who also had retinoblastoma), died at age 44 when Erin was just two years old. Her disability funds from Social Security end with high school. Does anyone know anything about scholarships for survivors of eye cancer, or retinoblastoma specifically? Thanks for much! -Nancy Cardwell Erdos, ncardwell1@aol.com
