spindle cell sarcoma of the maxillary sinus and orbit

spindle cell sarcoma of the maxillary sinus and orbit
From Kairen48, May 23, 2008
Has anyone out there had experience with a tumor of the orbit resulting from a spindle cell sarcoma which has penetrated the fatty tissue of the orbit? Is enucleation the only treatment? My husband is scheduled for surgery in June and what our surgeon has palnned seems a bit drastic. He tells us he will be removing bone, muscle, and fat and that a moving or natural prosthesis will be impossible. This tumor does not involve anything but bone and fatty tissue. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You Kairen

I have the same kind of sarcoma, which ate through the bone and invaded the orbital fat. I had a maxillectomy, but the cancer came back and now I am recommended for exenteration. What did your husband end up undergoing? I hope it worked out and would love to hear from you.
