Congratulations to Drs. Sera Mesa Mesa and Lorena Torres for completing their ECF Sponsored Fellowship!
June 3, 2026: Drs. Sera Mesa Mesa and Lorena Torres have successfully completed the Ocular and Orbital Oncology Fellowship Program at Calle Ophthalmic and Orbit Center under prestigious doctor, Alberto Calle Vásquez MD, FACS sponsored by The Eye Cancer Foundation! The fellowship consisted of intensive subspecialty training in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of ocular and orbital oncologic conditions.
During the course of this fellowship, the fellows received comprehensive clinical and surgical training encompassing the evaluation and management of intraocular tumors, orbital malignancies, eyelid neoplasms, and conjunctival lesions. Training included, but was not limited to, uveal melanoma, retinoblastoma, ocular adnexal lymphoma, lacrimal gland tumors, and orbital metastases.
Throughout the fellowship, Dr. Torres participated actively in inpatient and outpatient clinical care, surgical procedures, tumor board conferences, and academic activities including didactic lectures, journal clubs, and research. The fellow consistently demonstrated a high level of clinical acumen, professionalism, and dedication to patient care.
It is with great confidence and distinction that we confirm both fellows have fulfilled all requirements of the Ocular and Orbital Oncology Fellowship Program and are hereby recognized as having completed training in this subspecialty.
